Anne Becker is a director and a member of the fim's energy and utility law group. Anne represents regulated and unregulated utilities, newly formed corporations, customer groups, industrial entities and others, before state agencies, courts and federal administrative bodies. As part of the energy and utility law group, Anne works with municipalities, consumers and renewable developers with drafting supply and other agreements as well as representation involving contract disputes with utilities and utility rate setting.
Anne also serves as Indiana counsel for national telecommunications and cable carriers and is experienced litigating telecommunications issues including carrier to carrier disputes and assisting with regulatory compliance.
Her 10-year tenure as Indiana's Utility Consumer Counselor has earned Anne the title of longest-serving counselor in the history of the state of Indiana. There, she led a staff of 57 in representing customers-residential, commercial and industrial-before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Federal Communications Commission and the courts.
As Utility Consumer Counselor, Anne reorganized the governmental entity to become more policy-oriented and the agency began to engage in issues beyond its traditional advocacy role.
