Jewell DeBonis is a veteran lobbyist and has been a presence in Indiana Republican politics for 25 years.

As multi-client lobbyist, DeBonis represented a diverse client base before the Indiana General Assembly and state government agencies. Clients have included life insurance companies, health care providers, a national bank, the liquor industry, environmental management firms, the telecommunications industry, an electric utility, professional associations, and numerous other businesses and industries. On the federal level, DeBonis organized grass roots coalitions to lobby Indiana's U.S. Senators and Representatives on trade, health care, business and environmental issues.

DeBonis directed campaign efforts for U.S. Senators Richard Lugar and Dan Coats, former Indiana Governor Bob Orr, and former Indianapolis Mayor Bill Hudnut. In 1986, DeBonis was elected the first woman Secretary of the Indiana Republican State Central Committee. During her three year tenure, she served as the Committee's primary lobbyist to the Indiana General Assembly and supervised the Committee's participation in legislative, statewide, and local campaigns. DeBonis also served as the Committee's liaison to the 92 Republican county organizations throughout the state.

DeBonis directed projects and coordinated efforts between federal and state agencies as Assistant State Director for U.S. Senator Dick Lugar. She was responsible for projects and federal grant allocation involving the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of Education, the Economic Development Administration, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

DeBonis served as Senior Vice President and directed the political and governmental division of American Marketmetrics, Inc., a research and marketing firm. In addition to providing consulting services to trade and professional associations, not-for-profit organizations, political candidates, and political parties, she supervised the firm's development of software products to facilitate association management and grass roots coalition development.
