Kay Squires has worked in the legal field for 30 years. She has worked with state and federal agencies such as the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) relative to rate cases, bypass issues, and mergers.

Since joining Lewis & Kappes, P.C. in 1997, Ms. Squires has provided association management support for Indiana Industrial Energy Consumers, Inc. (INDIEC). She coordinates and manages all business and legislative functions applicable to the responsibilities of Executive Director, Jack Wickes. Ms. Squires assists Mr. Wickes in marketing new and affiliate memberships within the State of Indiana and serves as an information clearinghouse for existing members. She assists these large industrial energy users by managing all details of membership meetings, newsletters, annual plant tours, legislative receptions, workshops, and retreats in addition to maintaining INDIEC's website. As part of the Lewis & Kappes energy team that represents clients in the many policy debates that impact all sectors of the energy industry, she regularly arranges for presenters at various industry events and maintains solid relationships with key contacts in the regulatory environment. Her legislative experience includes bill tracking, as well as lobbyist activity and political action committee reports. She has implemented a large database on behalf of INDIEC and has an excellent rapport with its membership.

As Conference Coordinator of the annual Indiana Energy Conference, Ms. Squires represents INDIEC as one of 12 sponsors, coordinating with other sponsors, including the Governor's Office, utility companies, municipals and REMC's, and numerous other governmental agencies. Her work with the conference sponsors includes selecting the panel topics and speakers, and notifying the media by preparing and sending press releases.
