Kelly J. Balok joined Lewis & Kappes in 2008 as an associate in the firm's Corporate Group. Ms. Balok focuses her practice on corporate and individual income taxation, mergers and acquisitions, health law, and general business transactions.

Between receiving her undergraduate degree and attending law school, Ms. Balok worked as a health care and technology practitioner in the Chicago office of Deloitte (formerly known as Deloitte & Touche) and as an independent consultant to Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, CA. She has extensive experience in the health care regulatory environment, having worked with large national clients on policies and procedures relating to compliance with EMTALA, HIPAA, ERISA, and Medicare claims/billing issues. While in law school, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Mary Harper in the Porter County Superior Court. Prior to joining the firm as an associate, Ms. Balok was a summer associate at the Firm.
