Bette Dodd Elected to Utility Post at State Bar

A natural fit, given the nature of her legal practice

Bette Dodd has been elected secretary-treasurer of the utility law section of the Indiana State Bar Association.

This position puts Ms. Dodd in position to become the chair of the utility law section in 2003-2005.

She is the former chair of the Utility Services Consumer and Electricity Division of the Utility Section.

The utility law section is one of 22 distinct areas of the law represented by committees under the auspices of the Indiana State Bar Association. There are close to 200 members in this committee alone.

Ms. Dodd is a Director with Lewis & Kappes, an Indianapolis law firm. She does a great deal of municipal utility law, as well as energy law involving gas and electric utilities. She is a 1983 graduate of Indiana University School of Law Indianapolis, and has been practicing law at Lewis & Kappes for seven years.
