Klinestiver Joins Local Law Firm Lewis & Kappes

Areas of concentration will be intellectual property law and entertainment law

David Klinestiver has joined local law firm Lewis & Kappes.

His areas of practice include intellectual property law, entertainment law, corporate and business organizations (including mergers and acquisitions) and franchising.

Mr. Klinestiver graduated from Indiana University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Prior to receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University School of Law (Bloomington) in 1985, Mr. Klinestiver studied at the Institute on International and Comparative Law in Paris, France, a program co-sponsored by the University of San Diego School of Law and the Universite de Paris, Sorbonne. While at the I.U. School of Law, he was a member of the Board of Editors of the Indiana Law Journal, and served as Senior Managing Editor during the 1984-1985 academic year.

Mr. Klinestiver was admitted to the bar in Kentucky in 1985, and practiced for several years with a leading business law firm in Louisville, Kentucky. Admitted to practice in Indiana in 1987, Mr. Klinestiver returned to his hometown of Indianapolis in 1994, continuing his practice concentration in trademark, copyright and other intellectual property-related matters.

Mr. Klinestiver has lectured on intellectual property and business-related topics at seminars presented to members of the bar in both Kentucky and Indiana. He has also served on the boards of several civic organizations and institutions. Mr. Klinestiver is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

A north side resident, he is married and has two children.
