Angela Iza Adams Receives “Up and Coming Lawyer” Award
Lewis & Kappes attorney Angela Iza Adams was one of fifteen Indiana lawyers honored by Indiana Lawyer as “Up and Coming Lawyers.” In the second annual “Leadership in Law” publication, Indiana Lawyer announced the awards recognizing outstanding attorneys from around Indiana. As explained by Chris Katterjohn, Publisher of Indiana Lawyer, “Our Up and Coming Lawyer Award honors 15 lawyers who are early in their legal careers but have already demonstrated a knack for leadership and for making an impact, and have all the makings of becoming a distinguished barrister in the future.”
The “Leadership in Law” publication profiles Angela's background as a teacher of English in Mexico and a state employee assisting teachers of migrant and minority children in Indiana, leading to her legal accomplishments as an attorney practicing in immigration law. She joined Lewis & Kappes in May 2002 as an immigration paralegal, while still attending law school, and has been an attorney in the immigration practice at Lewis & Kappes since being admitted to the state bar in October 2004. In addition to practicing law, Angela has been active in professional organizations with an immigration focus, has continued to volunteer and teach, and has been appointed to represent the Consulate of Mexico in Indianapolis. She credits her father for teaching her the values of tolerance and compassion.
