Suzanne focuses her practice on the representation of nonprofit organizations; community based health care; general litigation; and immigration. Suzanne frocuses her practice on the representation of nonprofit and healthcare organizations.
Suzanne has worked with such notable non-profit organizations as the Madame C.J. Walker Urban Life Center, the Historic Irvington Pleasant Run Run and the Latino Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse. Suzanne often provides legal opinions and prepares corporate documents related to many aspects of nonprofit law including, but not limited to, Federal and State applications for exemption, conflicts of interest, tax issues, director liability and grant management. Additionally, she presents a board program which provides board members with a legal overview of their roles and resonsibilites, as well as an overview of legal issues common to nonprofit organizations.
Suzanne's health care practice has required her to author and evaluate employment, third party service provider and medical provider agreements. Additionally, Suzanne works closely with Federally Qualified Health Centers, Look-Alikes and other primary care providers.
In addition to Suzanne's nonprofit and health care work, she is also part of Lewis & Kappes' toxic torts & product liability defense team, and part of its civil litigation and immigration practice groups.
